Mark Satterthwaite Develops Several New TV Shows for E1 and Teletoon

New TV Series "Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong"

After wrapping production on Season 1 of "Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong," Satterthwaite starts development on a new series for E1 and Teletoon

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, November 6, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Internationally acclaimed screenwriter and producer Mark Satterthwaite, the leading creative force and writer behind Entertainment One Family's new series "Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong," is moving full steam ahead on the development of yet another new series for E1 and Teletoon.

Set in outer space, the first season of the animated television series "Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong" is comprised of 52 episodes that follow the wild adventures of Winston Steinburger, his crazy best friend Sir Dudley, who happens to be a cat, and their alien guardian Hampton who will be voiced by Matt Baram from "Seeds," "Wingin' It," "She's the Mayor" and the musical comedy series "Make it Pop.”

The series is geared towards youth audiences between the ages of 6 and 12, an age group that Satterthwaite loves writing for due to the fact that it gives him the freedom to stretch the borders of reality and create outlandish and unpredictable plotlines that spark his audience's imagination.

"Mark was head writer for the first season of 'Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding-Dong,' and the show would not have even been green lit if it weren't for Mark's writing in the show's development phase," admits Teletoon Production Executive Brandon Lane.

"The unique comedic sensibility and story-telling skills he brings shaped the show and the result is a fresh and funny new production that will stand out in our line-up."

As the first season of "Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong" wraps production, Satterthwaite has started development on his newest television project, "Cupcake and Dinosaur: General Services."

The animated series follows Cupcake, an ambitious muffin with a frosty pink pompadour, and Dino, his friendly and exceedingly curious younger brother, as they traverse the big city trying to make it in the competitive industry of general services. It takes dedication to make it to the top of the most glamorous industry in this far out world, and Cup and Dino never say no to a job; but things are never as simple as they seem.

Whether they are called in to fix a flat tire, only to discover that their client's car is possessed by a dolphin that just wants to drive out to sea, or tackle a seemingly simple gardening job where they uncover a community of fairies living in the brush, Cup and Dino always seem to find themselves in sticky situations.

A muffin on a mission, Cup is the unquestionable driving force of the biz, and Dino's penchant for stopping to smell the roses never fails to get in the way of his older brother's master plan, but sometimes that's just what Cup needs in order to slow down and enjoy life.

"Mark's comedic style is absurd and unlike what is generally produced, which is perfect for our audience, and the characters and stories he writes could only be written by him," says Lane. "'Cupcake and Dinosaur: General Services' is driven by Mark's unique vision and voice and I can't wait to see it continue to evolve."

Over the course of his 15 year career as a television screenwriter Satterthwaite has made an indelible mark in the world of animated programs with the series "The Dating Guy" and the show's accompanying web series "Dr. Love" receiving the Gemini Award for Best Cross-Platform Project in 2011, and the series "Almost Naked Animals" earning a Gemini Award nomination the same year. He also wrote the pilot as well as the show bible for the series "Grojband," which were integral in selling the series to Cartoon Network and Teletoon.

Aside from writing multi-award winning animated hits, Satterthwaite's unique writing style has been integral in the success of a myriad of other television programs including "MTV Live," "The Morgan Waters Show," "You Bet Your Ass," "The Main" and more.

Reaching the level of international recognition that he has as a screenwriter is, in itself, an incredible accomplishment that most people can only dream about; but, what is the most astonishing aspect of Satterthwaite's career is the multifarious nature of his talent.

In 2007 Satterthwaite both wrote and directed several episodes of the Canadian daily show "The Hour" hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos; and it's no coincidence that the production won the Gemini Award for Best Talk Series the very same year.

As the writer, producer and occasional director behind some of Canada's most prestigious awards shows, including the 2006 and 2007 Gemini Awards, and the MuchMusic Awards, as well as the series "The X," "My Parents House," and others, he's established a dazzling reputation for himself as a leading figure in the entertainment industry.

Thanks to his wild imagination and jokes that just won't quit, Satterthwaite is known for creating the kinds of shows that leave audiences dying with laughter, and that's what he loves most. With the series "Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong" slated to begin airing on Teletoon Canada and ABC3 Australia in 2016, as well as the series "Cupcake and Dinosaur: General Services," which he's developing for Teletoon, Satterthwaite’s newest projects will assuredly keep viewers entertained just like all of his other productions have in the past.
