Thirty-seven years ago you started your democratic journey as an independent state. From that day forward, our countries have shared a firm commitment to democracy, peace, and human development. Today, we continue to work together to provide greater economic opportunities for our peoples, to promote educational and cultural exchanges, to enhance the safety of our citizens, and to improve preparedness for natural disasters. I am confident that the friendship between our governments and our citizens will deepen even further over time.
