October 2015 - In an effort to further consumer protection, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has developed the SEIA Solar Business Code. The Code offers businesses and customers more transparency and better understanding of solar power transactions including contract terms, advertising and customer acquisition, sales and marketing, and solar presentation to consumers. The SEIA Solar Business Code will help more customers differentiate among solar energy providers and support increased U.S. solar energy use. Prior to this, SEIA released its "Residential Consumer Guide to Solar Power" in August 2015. SEIA operates as the primary national trade association for the U.S. solar energy industry.
