October 2015 - U.S. homebuilder Lennar Corp., together with SunStreet Energy Group, is developing a residential community in Austin, Texas, which will include rooftop solar as a standard feature. The project, also known as Lennar's Colorado Crossing development, is located near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and will eventually encompass over 500 homes. Each rooftop solar array will provide approximately half of each home's electrical needs. SunStreet Energy will own and maintain the solar arrays while homeowners can either pay a flat monthly fee of about $50 for the next 20 years or buy the panels outright for $15,000.
