TTIP - why it's good news for Romania
United States | Brussels, 16 October 2015
EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström is in Bucharest today, attending the ’Romania’s Voice’ conference on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and Romanian SMEs.
In her first visit to Romania since taking office, the Commissioner told the conference that the country had much to gain from the TTIP, with over 130 Romanian towns and cities having a company that exports to the US. At the conference, she discussed the state of play of the TTIP negotiations with representatives from small and medium-sized businesses, civil society, trade unions and agriculture. During her visit, the Commissioner will also meet with the European Affairs and Trade Joint Committees of the Romanian parliament.
