Green Mountain Power and Yeloha Launch Solar Sharing Program in Vermont
October 2015 - Green Mountain Power and Yeloha, a solar sharing network, have partnered to develop a solar sharing pilot program in the towns of Rutland and Barre, Vermont. The pilot partnership will provide a platform for customers to produce solar energy and share it with other customers in exchange for lower energy bills. The program allows individuals who do not have a roof or do not want to install solar panels to subscribe online and purchase power generated by other residents and businesses willing to host a rooftop system. System hosts will participate free of charge and receive a portion of the electricity generated by those panels, which in turn will lower their electric bills.
