CPS Energy and PowerFin Launch Rooftop Solar Program in San Antonio
September 2015 - CPS Energy and San Antonio- and Austin-based PowerFin have launched a pilot solar program in the city of San Antonio, Texas. The new program, called SolarHost TM, will allow residents and businesses to host photovoltaic systems on their rooftops and receive credits on their energy bill. Under the agreement, PowerFin will install and operate solar panels to produce five megawatts of rooftop solar power throughout CPS's service territory. Property owners will be paid 3 cents per kilowatt hour in the form of a credit on their monthly electric bills for 20 years.
