New Scottish Food and Drink Federation CEO Appointed

The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) – the voice of UK food and drink– has appointed David Thomson as CEO of the Scottish Food and Drink Federation (SFDF). David will take up his new role in December 2015.

David brings a wealth of experience to FDF. He has worked at a senior level for the Scottish Government for seventeen years, including five years as Head of Food, Drink and Rural Communities and two as Head of Primary Care.

FDF Director General Ian Wright said: “I am delighted to welcome David Thomson to SFDF. We very much look forward to having him as part of the FDF senior team. David's breadth of experience of food and drink policy makes him the ideal candidate to take up the mantle and represent the sector in Scotland. With David's help we will continue to champion UK food and drink as a world leading industrial sector and outstanding national asset.”

David Thomson said: "Scotland's food and drink industry is world class. It will truly be an honour to represent such a vibrant sector and one with such potential to contribute even more to our national economy and community.
