EFSA's Stakeholder Consultative Platform appoints Chair
The setting up of the Platform, agreed by EFSA’s Management Board on 20th June 2005, reaffirms the Authority’s commitment to openness and transparency. Along with the Platform, EFSA will pursue its ongoing dialogue with stakeholder organizations, including consultations, scientific colloquia, and the organization of annual colloquia.
The Platform is composed of EU wide stakeholder organizations representing the entire food chain such as farmers, consumer groups, food industry, and food trade organizations as well as NGOs active within EFSA’s mandate. It will advise EFSA’s Executive Director with regard to general issues regarding the work of EFSA and, in particular, with regard to the impact of its work on stakeholders, thereby providing a forum for regular dialogue and exchange.
