The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) released a free smartphone app for all mobile platforms that provides information on renewable energy resources anywhere in the world. The app incorporates 1,000 maps from 67 governments and 50 data centers, allowing users to screen renewable energy project sites before making investment decisions. The app is the mobile version of the Global Atlas for Renewable Energy.
