Our Partners: World Resources Institute

Recognizing that The Coca-Cola Company’s proprietary water information could have greater positive impact as a public platform, in 2011 we provided our comprehensive global data package on water scarcity trends to the World Resource Institute's Aqueduct project. The data includes sophisticated hydrological models designed to show where water stress is most acute now, and projections for how the water scarcity situation could change, in areas where Coca-Cola operates or plans to operate. These detailed global maps provide support for strategic decisions for the most effective implementation of Coca-Cola's global water stewardship strategy and programs, and how best to manage those risks.

Founded by General Electric, Goldman Sachs, and other large businesses, Aqueduct is using Coca-Cola data, along with other sources, to create highly-detailed water risk maps. The global water risk mapping tool will help companies, investors, governments, and other users understand where and how water risks and opportunities are emerging worldwide.
