Consumers Energy Develops 10-MW Community Solar Program in Michigan

July 2015 - Consumers Energy announced that it is developing a new community solar program in Michigan. Under the Solar Garden program, Consumers Energy will develop up to 10-megawatts of solar energy at locations within its Michigan service territories. All of the company's customers will be able to subscribe to the program's flexible payment plans prior to the solar systems being constructed. Construction is expected to begin on the solar systems once all subscriptions for the program are filled, with operations anticipated to begin sometime in 2016.
