The Beja Congress in Sudan Appeals to South African Human Rights Organisation
President Omar al-Bashir must be brought to justice
ALTRINCHAM, CHESHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM, June 13, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The president of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir, has committed many crimes in Sudan, the massacre of Port Sudan in 2005 being among them. As you know, he is a fugitive from the International Criminal Court (ICC), which has issued a warrant for his arrest after indicting him for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in Darfur. That was in March 2009. However, he still defies in an arrogant way the international community and its laws and he continues his atrocities against the Sudanese people especially in Darfur, south Kordofan, Blue Nile. Even at this moment, fresh blood from peaceful demonstrators is lying in the streets of Burri district in Khartoum. With great pleasure our party, the BC, has received the news that your organisation is preparing to seek an arrest warrant for him once he arrives in South Africa for the African Union (AU) summit this week. This is a great act of solidarity with the Sudanese people, which finds our full appreciation and support. The BC is sure that all democratic organizations, human rights defenders and peace loving people all over the world welcome your efforts.
To let such a criminal set his feet in the land of the great South African people, the land of our legendary leader Nelson Mandela, without taking appreciate measures against him would be unwelcome.
The BC appeals that you continue your efforts determinedly. President Omar al-Bashir must be brought to justice. He must be delivered to the ICC.
