Speech: An integrated EU trade and foreign policy

Commissioner Cecilia Malmström spoke at the European Council on Foreign Relations this afternoon, highlighting the need for a coordinated approach to all the EU's external policy. Trade can help Europe reach many of its foreign policy objectives, on issues like security, development and the projection of fundamental European values. This should be part of a coordinated approach in which foreign policy tools also help open markets to help deliver European prosperity.
