Speech: TTIP and the Czech Republic
United States | Prague, 5 June 2015
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) was the main subject on the agenda of today’s visit by EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström to Prague.
In her meetings with the Czech government, the Czech parliament, stakeholders, and members of the public, she stressed the benefits of this agreement for the country. Apart from the clear economic benefits for workers, consumers and SMEs, she noted that closer cooperation on regulation with the US authorities would deliver better outcomes for Europeans and highlighted the strategic advantage of a closer alliance with the United States.
