The CBA Pumas, out of Henderson, Nevada, are the largest travel/club baseball organization in the state with 14 teams ages 6u – 18u, 150+ players and 300+ parents. CBA (California Baseball Academy) Pumas mission is to develop baseball players by teaching them the fundamentals of the game and making it fun. Coach Jay Matos, Director of CBA Puma Baseball said “Our Puma family is large. Parents and their families show their pride by wearing our gear all over town and you can spot a Puma member driving down the street by seeing our Puma logo on the back of their car. However, with all that being said, there was a component missing for these boys and their families that we could not offer and that is the Little League experience and All-Stars where players can play positions they might not be ready for in travel/club baseball tournaments.” Coach Matos said "It’s great for parents to share the Little League experience with their kids and it's not my place to deprive them of that. Little League has done a wonderful job of creating a great experience for the family. We want more baseball players, baseball is a great sport, it is a tool box of success and as we open it we find the tools to teach discipline, teamwork, competitive spirit, strong character through hard work, improving bad grades and maintaining good ones, staying away from drugs and associating with positive friends.
Most of our talent will come from Little League and we understand that. This year we sponsored Henderson’s Paseo Verde and Legacy Little Leagues and next year we will keep expanding as we grow through out the Vegas Valley.
