March 2015 - Target and Greenskies Renewable Energy have announced an agreement to install solar arrays atop 180 Target stores and distribution centers across twelve U.S. states. Greenskies will design, operate, and maintain the solar systems, which are anticipated to produce 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity, with an average system size of almost 1,700 panels. Target will purchase 100 percent of the power generated at each of the sites at a fixed and discounted price for the length of the contract. Each solar system is projected to provide 20 to 30 percent of the power consumed at the stores. All 180 projects are expected to be completed by the winter of 2016.
