January 2015 - TXU Energy now offers Texans the option to go 100 percent renewable for their home electricity service through the company's GreenUp program. The new program allows existing residential customers to continue their current service plans, while adding renewable energy to equivalent to 100 percent of their electricity use. TXU Energy will purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs) to ensure that an equal amount of electricity generated from renewable resources will be put onto the Texas power grid for every kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed by its customers.
