This award, presented at the 2014 NJSC Banquet Dinner in Princeton, NJ, is bestowed on an individual who has contributed exemplary service to the NJSC over an extended period of time without current or previous affiliation with the convention’s Steering Committee.

Over the past 13 years, Dr. Landsman presented keynote and featured talks in addition to annual multiple workshop presentations at the NJSC. For example, as the 2012 convention banquet speaker, Landsman delivered a talk presenting evidence from neuroscience research that highlighted the importance of teachers as “neuroeducators.” In addition, he presented teacher workshops featuring the “Research Investigation Process” (RIP ®) inquiry-based critical thinking models: "RIP~ing Through Scientific Inquiry ™" and "RIP~ing Through STEM ™." The content of these contributions focused on development and refinement of teacher pedagogical skills, including those of the scientific inquiry process and scientific practices and data analysis skills and techniques. These skills and processes promote the development of teacher and student critical thinking skills that enhance STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) instruction and learning.
