Date: 11/17/2014

Windswept, Maryland's Clean Energy Grant Program for wind projects, offers state residents, businesses, and non-profits the opportunity to install and manage their own wind energy systems. The program is designed to help satisfy Maryland's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), requiring 20% of Maryland's electricity to be generated from renewable energy sources by 2022. Windswept funds are available through the Residential Clean Energy Grant Program for homeowners and Commercial Clean Energy Grant Program for businesses, non-profits, and government entities. The Maryland Energy Administration is now accepting applications for the second round of grants, and the applications are due December 15, 2014.
