Local author Michael Lynch shares an insightful and comprehensible A to Z guidebook in The College Edge.
As a college soccer coach, Lynch was able to gain close access to admission offices and perspective students. "During this time I found out that what I thought was common knowledge, really wasn't, so, I decided to put together a confidence-building book to give each reader the self-reliance and fortitude to begin the college application process. It took about five years of research to put this book together," shares Lynch.
In the hopes of putting together an easy-access to the path of college, Lynch shares with us tips on how to narrow down the search for the right college, the important stuff that matters when visiting college campuses, what an admissions officer is really looking for, how to keep college cost down, and, as an added bonus, Lynch also gives out some tips on how to embrace the new parent-college freshman relationship.
"I wish I had this book when I was about to step through college. It's every college freshman's must-have!" shares Stacy Baker, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Michael Lynch is one of five siblings and the son of two wonderful parents, Mary and Joe Lynch. He started college as a twenty-six year-old freshman, going to an outstate university as a nontraditional student. Looking for ways to save money, he obtained state residency and rummaged through ways on how to take advantage of lesser priced community college as well as online courses. Soon after college, he became an assistant women's soccer coach at a small private liberal arts college, working closely with the admissions office and the prospective athletes. It wasn't long before he realized the stress and complications associated with the college admittance process. So with that background and this publication, he put together a great reference to help ease your college journey, thus, The College Edge.
