SMART Wind Consortium Launch

Date: 10/16/2014

Location: Albany, NY

Source: Distributed Wind Energy Association

The Distributed Wind Energy Association (DWEA) will host the inaugural Strategies for Manufacturers Advancing Research and Technology (SMART) Wind Consortium meeting. The U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) awarded the Distributed Wind Energy Association, supported by eFormative Options and Wind Advisors Team, a 2-year grant to form a consortium of distributed wind energy equipment manufacturers, suppliers, customers, and university researchers and develop a roadmap to identify common manufacturing gaps, prioritize actions to close these gaps, and foster rapid transfer of solutions.

At the launch meeting, the project scope, structure, and participants will be identified. All U.S. companies, manufacturing experts, national laboratories, and universities are invited to attend and participate; however, identifying specific participants who wish to join this project will be critical in establishing the Consortia subgroups. Remote participation will be offered with a $75 registration fee.

If you're not ready to register for the October 16th event, please sign up to receive SMART Wind updates and identify which subgroups you are interested in so we can keep you up to speed as the project moves forward.
