Landfill Solar Facility Powering Cape Cod Healthcare
October 2014 - The Ravenbrook Farms Landfill Solar Facility, a 6-megawatt solar array on a 16-acre private landfill site in North Carver, Massachusetts, began producing power for Cape Cod Healthcare through a net metering agreement with Southern Sky Renewable Energy, a developer of solar projects on closed landfills. The hospital gets a credit on its bill instead of buying the actual solar power and has projected that it will save $200,000 to $250,000 in energy costs a year over the next 20 years.
