CHEROKEE , NORTH CAROLINA , USA, September 17, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Actor Barrett Doyle will portray backcountry Indian trader Nathaniel Gist in A Demand of Blood, based on the book of the same title.

Valley River Media, in association with the Museum of the Cherokee in South Carolina, received a grant from the Graham Foundation in Greenville, S.C. to bring Revolutionary War history to life. A television special based on Nadia Dean’s book, A Demand of Blood: The Cherokee War of 1776, will portray men in the American Revolution who became caught up in a dangerous web of intrigue. The drama will depict Nathaniel Gist, the son of Christopher Gist who was a close friend of George Washington. The program will enhance our understanding of this little-known frontier war of the American Revolution.

South Carolina native Nadia Dean is a former member of the U. S. Senate and House of Representatives News Galleries, who says, “Nathaniel Gist is a complex character that appears on all sides of the Revolutionary War and acts as the narrator of our story.”

Broadcast of the film will be announced at a later date. Nadia Dean, who will host screenings throughout the U.S., says, “We needed a special actor to portray Gist, and we’re happy to have found Barrett who will carry the audience well.”
