Enhancing energy infrastructure projects will improve U.S. energy security and create jobs
“Government roadblocks to building infrastructure could harm our current energy revolution,” said Greco. “We need to fully embrace our thriving North American energy renaissance by building the infrastructure to transport needed energy to American consumers.”
API thanked Senators John Hoeven (R- N.D.), Joe Donnelly (D- Ind.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Joe Manchin (D- W.Va.) for their leadership in trying to implement a transparent, modern and standardized permitting process for all energy projects that cross U.S. borders.
“This bill is another great example that energy is not a partisan issue. Responsible North American made energy is something everyone can support. We can be an energy super power, but we need to build a modern infrastructure system to reach that goal.
“While we need a consistent and robust regulatory process, it must be fair and be aligned with today’s energy realities. Unnecessary regulatory burdens on America’s energy development will stifle investment, harm our economy, and weaken our national security.”
API represents all segments of America’s oil and natural gas industry. Its more than 600 members produce, process, and distribute most of the nation’s energy. The industry also supports 9.8 million U.S. jobs and 8 percent of the U.S. economy.
