Clean Energy Collective Completes First 1-MW Community Solar Array in Massachusetts

September 2014 - On August 21, 2014, the Clean Energy Collective (CEC), Colorado-based community solar developer, celebrated the opening of the 1-megawatt (MW) Southeastern Massachusetts Community Solar Array in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. The new utility-scale community-shared solar facility was open to all ratepayers in the National Grid service territory and is currently closed for subscription Another CEC community solar facility, the 997-kilowatt (kW) Western Massachusetts Community Solar Array in Hadley, Massachusetts, is expected to be online starting September 2014 and will begin serving Western Massachusetts Electric Company customers. In addition, in Colorado, CEC and Xcel Energy partnered to develop two 500-kilowatts (kW) solar arrays in Denver County. Both community solar facilities are located at the Evie Garrett Dennis School campus in northeast Denver and consist of more than 4,000 panels. After available rebates and tax incentives, the cost is $3.70 per watt, or $906.50 per solar panel for any Xcel Energy ratepayer in Denver County.
