August 26th, 2014, VANCOUVER, B.C. – CAVAN VENTURES INC. (TSX-V: CVN) (“Cavan” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce completion of an agreement with Lauzon-Foresterie Inc. (Thurso, QC), authorizing the Company to drill on forested portions of its 100% owned Buckingham graphite property, located adjacent to the historic Walker Graphite Mine in Buckingham Township, Quebec.

In May, Magnor Exploration Inc. (La Baie, QC) was engaged to conduct an exploration work program that included trenching and ground-based geophysics. The trenching was highly successful with composite samples from two trenches returning 20.5% organic carbon (‘Corg’) over 21 meters, and 15.55% Corg over 19.5 meters, respectively (see news release, July 17, 2013). The trenching program confirmed that a number of airborne geophysical anomalies identified in 2013 were graphite mineralization. Ground geophysics that was used to highlight areas for trenching also identified a number of new anomalies that are yet to be tested. The focus of the drilling program will be to test several of these anomalies, as well as to test the down-dip of mineralization exposed through trenching. Under the terms of the agreement, Cavan will reimburse Lauzon-Foresterie for any trees of commercial value that are removed as a consequence of drilling, including placement of the felled trees near roads for later recovery.
