A UESC is a contracting vehicle that allows utilities to provide Federal customers with comprehensive energy and water efficiency improvements and demand reduction services.  Current Presidential mandates require agencies to evaluate facilities, identify potential savings and appropriately leverage both private and public sector funding to invest in comprehensive projects.  UESCs provide a streamlined approach for Federal agencies to contract for the broad spectrum of energy management services offered by local utilities.  Partnering with your local serving utility is vital for agencies to meet their energy goals.

FEMP maintains a utility partner list on the UESC website which includes current contact information for utilities offering UESCs and/or participating in the Federal Utility Partnership Working Group.  Agencies are encouraged to contact their local serving utility for the latest information on UESCs, rebates and incentive programs and other services that can help facilities fund energy projects.  If your Federal facility is interested in pursuing a UESC and your local serving utility is not listed, please contact David McAndrew, FEMP’s Utility Program Lead.  Utilities not listed are also encouraged to reach out to FEMP.  Free training is available to assist you in getting a UESC program started.
