Transplant Foundation brings its signature educational event to Jacksonville on August 16th for its inaugural Jacksonville Education Forum at the University of North Florida. The event featured the latest in transplantation from the leading physicians and healthcare professionals in Florida.
Patients from around the Jacksonville area gathered on August 16th for a day-long series of lectures on topics ranging from transplant surgical techniques, drug treatments and diet. Both pre and post transplant patients, along with their families, will be able to benefit from this affordable opportunity to learn from Florida’s experts in the field. Guests had the chance to hear from Keynote speaker, Dr. Cesar Keller, M.D., the Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program at Mayo Clinic Florida, who discussed the latest in lung research.
“I was very excited to bring the Transplant Foundation Education Forum to the Jacksonville area,” says Transplant Foundation Board Chair Chris Bednar. “The Education Forum was a great venue to bring Transplant patients, Medical professionals and the Transplant Foundation staff together to discuss the transplant process. Education is one of the key missions of the Transplant Foundation; I was honored to be part of the education forum and meet the patients being supported by the Transplant Foundation in the Jacksonville area. I am looking forward to supporting the Jacksonville Transplant community by utilizing the resources of Transplant Foundation’s mission.”
The Forum took place at the Adam W. Herbert University Center at University of North Florida (12000 Alumni Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224) on August 16th from 9am – 3pm. The Forum could not take place without the support of event sponsors: Leading Ladies, Inc., QUESTCOR, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, American Specialty Pharmacy, American Lung Association, and Jacksonville Transplant Alliance.
