RFI Seeks Feedback on Third-party Maintenance Strategy for AMO's Software Tools
The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) would like to understand the market opportunities for enhancing and expanding certain industrial system software tools and related assets (including training curriculum and written technical resources). Currently, these tools and resources are primarily maintained by AMO. A Request for Information (RFI) seeks information to assist with the transition of these resources to be primarily or solely managed by a third party (or parties). Market strategies are needed to expand the dissemination, uptake, use, and energy savings outcomes of the tools. AMO is particularly interested in business strategies to ensure the tools and resources are: maintained, improved and enhanced; remain available to manufacturers and other users in a cost effective manner; updated to respond to market needs; and adapted to changing electronic and IT infrastructure. Feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders will assist AMO with planning.
The Request for Information (RFI) provides a list of tools and additional information. Responses are due by September 30, 2014. This is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA).
