The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) has announced a line-up of top industry speakers for its first-ever Sustainability Convention at the British Museum on 21 October.

The event will focus on sustainability opportunities and risks in the food and drink industry, delivered through talks, panel discussions and roundtable workshops. The unique line-up of speakers includes:

  • Karen Hamilton, Vice President of Sustainability at Unilever
  • Glyn Davies, Executive Director of Global Programmes at WWF
  • Jonathan Horrell, Director of Sustainability at Mondelez International
  • Inder Poonaji, Head of Sustainability at Nestlé

Delegates will have an opportunity to learn from leading companies and hear from experts on global sustainability challenges facing the food industry, policy debate in the UK and EU and how to communicate sustainability to shoppers. There will also be sessions on supply chain strategy, building the factory of the future and practical steps for companies of all sizes.

FDF's Director General, Melanie Leech said:

“As the country's largest manufacturing sector, we believe that the UK food and drink industry has the opportunity and a major role to play in delivering growth, but this growth must be sustainable and meet the challenge of increasing global pressures on food systems.

“Our members have been delivering impressive savings in water, energy use, transport, packaging and food waste as part of our Five-fold Environmental Ambition and I look forward to sharing this expertise and helping more companies on their sustainability journeys at our Sustainability Convention this autumn.”
