Club for Growth Spokesman Barney Keller: “Rick Perry must have forgotten that he did a great job criticizing the Export-Import Bank back when he was running for President.”
Washington, DC - The Club for Growth expressed surprise that Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) voiced support for the Export-Import Bank today, given that Governor Perry criticized the Obama administration when the Export-Import Bank committed to a $2 billion dollar loan guarantee for a Brazilian oil company to drill offshore – saying that America shouldn’t be subsidizing its foreign competitors while at the same time opposing domestic drilling:
“Rick Perry must have forgotten that he did a great job criticizing the Export-Import Bank back when he was running for President,” said Club for Growth Spokesman Barney Keller. “The Export-Import Bank picks winners and losers in the free market and it should be eliminated completely.”
