Request for Information for Environmental Impact Minimization Technologies and Field Testing Opportunities
The Energy Department’s Wind Program is seeking feedback from the wind industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders regarding a potential funding opportunity to advance the readiness of environmental impact minimization technologies through investments in technology development and field testing. While guidelines exist for siting wind facilities to avoid impacts to wildlife, technologies to minimize impacts at operational wind facilities must be developed as the majority of existing prototypes are in the early stages of development. Significant advancements are needed to address the siting and permitting challenges currently faced by the wind industry. This is solely a request for information and not a Funding Opportunity Announcement; the Wind Program is not accepting applications for funding at this time.
