Date: 5/30/2014
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently awarded 19 advanced manufacturing technology planning grants totaling $9 million to new or existing industry-driven consortia to develop technology roadmaps designed to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and innovation performance across industries. The Distributed Wind Energy Association (DWEA) received one of the awards. Over a 2-year period, DWEA will "form a consortium of distributed wind energy equipment manufacturers, suppliers, customers, and university researchers and develop a roadmap that identifies common manufacturing gaps, prioritizes actions to close these gaps, and fosters rapid transfer of solutions."
