German Defence Minister Visits The A400M At ILA Air Show
On the second day of the 2014 ILA Berlin Air Show, one of the world’s key aerospace and defence trade shows, Airbus Group welcomed German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen at the company’s static display. During her visit, Airbus Group CEO Tom Enders gave Minister von der Leyen a personal tour of the A400M military transport aircraft, which featured trucks from the German Red Cross and the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) as would be used in humanitarian disaster relief operations.
Germany is the largest customer of the seven European A400M Launch Customer Nations with 53 aircraft on order. Berlin is scheduled to receive its first operational A400M at the end of 2014.
