Wind Power Sets New Record in Texas

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) reported that at 8:48 p.m. on March 26, wind farms connected to ERCOT's transmission network generated a new record high of 10,296 megawatts (MW), enough to power about 5 million typical Texas residences during a period of moderate electricity use. The generation was the most wind power ever recorded on any regional power grid.
