Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach Webinar: Recent Wind Technology Advances

April 16, 2014, 3 p.m. ET DOE's Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach initiative will host a webinar discussing recent advances in technology resulting in the increase in potentially deployable areas and future implications for wind deployment in low-wind-speed areas. Owen Roberts, an engineer at NREL, will present on the current state of turbine technology, new methodology, and new state wind maps developed using these methods. Simon Mahan of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy will discuss the impact that modern and future turbines may have on the Southeast and lessons learned from ongoing projects. Aaron Barr from MAKE Consulting will discuss the future of low-wind-speed technology, current technology trends, and projections for the future.
