Extensive New Chopin iPhone App To Launch Worldwide On Composer’s Birthday

Chopin Project 2 in the App Store

An extensive new iPhone App hits the iTunes App Store March 1st to coincide with celebration of Fredyryk Chopin's birthday.

LUTZ, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, February 28, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Adding to the growing portfolio of resources developed to help fans of Chopin’s music access and enjoy all his great works, at home and on the move, an extensive new iPhone App hits the iTunes App Store to coincide with the celebration of the Composer’s birthday.

If you’re one of the millions of fans of 19th century Polish-French pianist and composer, Fryderyk Chopin, his March 1st birthday could be just the excuse you need to treat yourself to a very special present – ‘Chopin In Your Pocket’. And all for the unbelievably low, celebratory price of $0.99.

The iOS7 optimized collection contains 50 tracks at launch, performed by internationally renowned pianists, with the promise of new material, including old favorites and material from Chopin's rarely performed repertory, including three chamber works and his 19 songs, to come. Plans to add new rich and captivating titles to the collection, every week, for at least the next three years, are already in place with the altruistic aim of opening up the mesmerizing world of Chopin’s preludes, etudes, nocturnes, mazurkas, scherzi, ballades, polonaises and piano concerti to more listeners.

Developed as a fully loaded companion to the already popular and free Chopin Project Lite App, which contains a much more limited selection of compositions that change from week to week, and officially catalogued as Chopin Project 2, the App provides listeners with a more extensive repertoire to enjoy.

It has been produced by Frederick Slutsky, the visionary behind The Chopin Project®, a global community sharing information, educational, audio and video resources focused on the great composer’s works.

He explains: “We are not releasing this App to become rich as should be apparent from our pricing. We simply want as many people as possible around the world to explore and savor the genius of Fryderyk Chopin. We already have an extensive discography of exclusive, exceptionally high quality audio recordings within The Chopin Project® listening library, all produced at Patrych Sound Studios in New York, and are we’re doing what’s necessary to make the entire Chopin repertory available to everyone as inexpensively as possible.”

Chopin Project® is a website, Facebook and Twitter community that brings people together, with each other and with the music they love, so taking advantage of mobile technology to ensure people can enjoy more of the composer’s works, wherever and whenever they like, was a logical step for us and just part of our plans to extend our offering this year.”

“Having lived and breathed the development of this App for almost two years now, I can guarantee there’s not another equivalent resource on the planet, in terms of quality, quantity or value, for people who already love Chopin or even for those that just want to find out what all the fuss is about.”

Thanks to the dedication of its creator, the good looking App, which comes with nearly four hours of material, eventually growing to over 16 hours of the most romantic piano music ever composed, is searchable by name, genre, key, and date of composition. There are options to create individual playlists and to feedback comments and requests to The Chopin Project®, which will then be able to further improve listeners’ experiences.

Chopin played a pivotal role in the romantic period of music history, particularly where the piano is concerned. He was composing and writing music at seven, and gave his first public performance at the age of eight. He went on to produce a legacy of over 225 titles, including 58 published mazurkas, 27 preludes, 21 nocturnes, 20 waltzes, 27 etudes, 4 ballades and at least 23 polonaises for solo piano as well as several chamber works, 2 piano concerti and 19 songs.

Slutsky concludes: “Our aim is to provide the most access for all -- fans, piano students, aficianados, and Chopin newbies -- to listen casually or to immerse themselves in the magical world of Fryderyk Chopin and the poetic legacy of his piano compositions. We hope making this iTunes App available so inexpensively, by just a few clicks on the computer or iPhone, will bring infinite listening pleasure to millions.”
