University of California at Riverside (UCR) is contracting with SunPower to construct and maintain a 10.92-acre solar installation. The solar installation is expected to be operational by July 2014 and will supply 3 MW of renewable energy to campus. UCR plans to purchase the electricity from SunPower, which is estimated to result in $4.3 million in electricity savings over the course of the 20-year contract.
