A Bruin tosses a rare snowball on campus in 1949.

This mild, summerish winter we're experiencing is making it easy to forget what season we are in without consulting the calendar.  January? Really?

But January can be a fickle month for weather. In fact, 82 years ago on Jan. 15, Bruins actually were able to make snowballs on campus and frolic in the white stuff. It happened again in January 1949.
