King Mohammed VI and President Hollande share their concern over C. Africa

In a framework of mutual consultation between Morocco and France, King Mohammed VI had on Tuesday a phone conversation with President Hollande on the latest developments of the situation in the Central African Republic.

During this conservation, the two heads of State shared their concern over the alarming deterioration of security, the worsening of the humanitarian crisis and the exacerbation of interfaith tensions in this brotherly African country.

HM the King and the French president insisted on the pressing need to create conditions propitious for an inclusive dialogue that enables all segments of the people of the Central African Republic to achieve national concord and initiate a peaceful democratic transition process within the framework of national unity.

HM the King underlined that, armed with his historical relations with all sectarian and political components of the Central African Republic, Morocco intends to actively contribute to efforts aimed at establishing peace and public order in this country and stopping the spiral of attacks and retaliations with a sectarian aspect which target the population, mainly the Muslim community, which is extremely worrisome.

King also underlined the importance of a balanced, non-discriminatory protection for all religious and ethnic communities in the Central African Republic.
