Sports ground opens in Rozhdestvenskaya settlement of Stavropol Territory

On December 5 the opening ceremony of a versatile sports ground constructed by Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol took place in Rozhdestvenskaya settlement of the Stavropol Territory. Ten sports grounds are being given to the young citizens of the Stavropol Territory within the Gazprom for Children target program.

Taking part in the opening ceremony of the new sports facility were Vladimir Vladimirov, Acting Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Alexey Zavgorodnev, Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol, Larisa Kalinchenko, Deputy Chairwoman of the Regional Government – Minister of Finance and Andrey Churikov, Head of the Izobilnensky Municipal District.

The new sports ground with a safety surface is designed for volleyball, basketball, futsal and track-and-field drills and competitions. A playground complex for the youngest children, including a sandbox, slides, pull-ups, parallel bars and benches for having a rest was constructed near the sports ground.

Background

Being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol is comprised of 19 branches. The company maintains the line pipes passing through 10 Russian constituents and conveying some 70 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The gas pipelines length exceeds 8,000 kilometers. Under the Gazprom for Children program the company has constructed and retrofitted over 50 children’s sports facilities in the Stavropol Territory, the Rostov and Astrakhan Regions, in the Republics of Ingushetia and North Ossetia – Alania.
