Energy Assurance and Interdependency Workshop

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE), in coordination with the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), will conduct the workshop, which is intended to inform and educate participants on interconnected energy systems and their cascading impacts on other critical infrastructure and essential services (transportation, water, food, finance, emergency services, telecommunications, etc.) following an event. The workshop will feature a variety of threat scenarios and vignettes and their immediate and long-term effects. Industry owners and operators will be present to provide an overview of systems operations. State and local governments will be able to evaluate their energy emergency preparedness and energy assurance plans.
State and local governments are strongly encouraged to attend. DOE encourages participation from Governors Offices, Energy Offices, Public Utility Commissions, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Environmental Protection, Transportation, and local governments responsible for dealing with energy supply disruptions and the impacts on other critical infrastructure.
