Food Manufacturers Looking for the Region's Budding Young Engineers at 'Careers in Focus' event

Food and drink manufacturers will be on the lookout for budding young engineers in the region at Careers in Focus, Yorkshire Agricultural Society's careers event for secondary school students taking place on Tuesday 8 October.

Representatives from the sector will be attending the event to promote the industry-backed mechanical engineering degree – the MEng Food Engineering degree at Sheffield Hallam University. The degree starts in 2014 and has been designed by some of the UK's top food and drink brands including the makers of Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings, Twinings Tea and McVities Chocolate Digestives to name just a few.

Students on the course will gain practical experience through paid industry placements as well as technical skills in mechanical, electrical, civil and chemical engineering – giving them everything they will need to build a career in this innovative global industry.
