Contract Modification Awarded for Legal Support

Cincinnati - The Department of Energy today awarded a contract modification to A R Biddle Associates, Inc. of Peachtree City, GA to add scope for the contractor to analyze contract claims that are appealed to the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals (CBCA). The contract was awarded on February 15, 2013 for expert assistance in evaluating contract claims up to and including participation in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings. The modification will also increase the not-to-exceed value of the contract from $563,744.00 to approximately $1.2 million and will extend the period of performance to three years by adding two option periods. A R Biddle Associates, Inc. is a small business.

The additional scope will include reviewing project documentation, performing thorough scheduling and financial analysis, reviewing discovery, consulting with counsel to assist in the preparation of discovery requests and depositions, assisting in the development of defensible litigation positions, preparing expert reports stating DOE’s official position concerning any claims appealed to the CBCA, acting as expert witness at trial, and being deposed as an expert witness prior to the trial.
