Alexander Potrokhov wins Gazprom’s Best Corrosion Prevention Expert 2013 competition
Gazprom conducted the Best Corrosion Prevention Expert 2013 vocational skills competition.
The competition prizes were awarded:
1st prize – Alexander Potrokhov (Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk);
2nd prize – Ildar Akhmetov (Gazprom Transgaz Ufa) and Alexey Chagirev (Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk);
3rd prize – Ivan Byrylov (Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol), Alexey Gagarin (Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg) and Alexey Chernov (Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg).
Background
The Gazprom's Best Corrosion Prevention Expert skills competition has been held since 2009 once every two years.
In 2013 representatives of Gazprom's 26 subsidiaries took part in the competition. All of them had won the first stage of the competition earlier held in subsidiary companies.
At the second (final) stage the competition participants passed two exams:
- a theory exam – knowledge of corrosion prevention basics;
- a practice exam – protective coating quality evaluation, electrochemical protection equipment maintenance and first aid treatment.
The skills competition was held at the Gazprom VNIIGAZ experimental base comprising special stands designed for the qualification upgrading and attestation of corrosion prevention experts, certification of respective technologies and testing of materials and equipment.
