Location: Denver, CO

Source: National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners

8:30 - 11:30 a.m. MDT Obtain expert assistance using the Eastern Interconnection States Planning Council (EISPC) Energy Zones Mapping Tool and discover how it can improve the efficiency of energy planning for the Eastern Interconnection.

Argonne National Lab will be offering a free EISPC Energy Zones Mapping Tool hands-on training session during the NARUC Summer Committee Meetings in Denver, Colorado. The web-based tool was developed to identify areas in the Eastern Interconnection with high-density clean energy resources that could provide significant new power generation from a diverse set of energy resources and power production technologies. The tool includes an extensive mapping library of nine clean energy resources and related data, interactive models and reports for 29 power generation and storage technologies capable of grid-level power production, and a policy and incentives database. Training will include instruction on mapping tool functions, such as adding and removing data layers, and running models and reports. Trainers will demonstrate example case studies and provide participants with the opportunity to use the tool to analyze regions and technologies of interest to them.

Class size is limited and registration is required. Please email Donna Brunner, Argonne National Laboratory, to register.
