2013 Africa Oil & Gas Awards
The Africa Oil & Gas Awards alongside the Southern Africa Oil & Gas Summit 2013, co-hosted with West Coast Africa: Deep Water and Pre-Salt Oil & Gas Summit.
LONDON, July 3, 2013 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The abundant energy resources of Southern Africa carry huge potential in transforming Southern Africa economies. Recent discoveries of major oil and gas substances in Southern Africa could improve the region's prospects dramatically by: reducing imports, increasing economic growth, and lowering CO2 levels in power generation. However it is essential to consider the necessary measures to be taken when extracting these rich resources from the sea.The main challenge that companies face is how to fully exploit these opportunities. The principal difficulty in retrieving these resources is combining the locations, logistics, production timing and market opportunities. However, those governments and companies that create and develop a range of options will benefit from long-term development. This is why the Southern Africa Oil & Gas Summit is a key networking event, bringing together the major key players in retrieving these resources.
The West Coast Africa: Deepwater and Pre-Salt Oil & Gas Summit will be covering offshore Oil & Gas opportunities along the entire Western Coast of Africa, from Morocco in the North West all the way down to Cape Town in the South West of Africa. The Summit will include the discussion of deepwater opportunities and developments across the Gulf of Guinea, along with Angola and South West Africa’s pre-salt boom. The latest developments in 3D seismic testing as well as Country-by-country guides and Case studies of Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Angola, Congo amongst many more, will all be available at the event.
The West African Coast was assessed for undiscovered, technically recoverable oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids resources. The USGS estimates that the the West African Coast holds 3.2 billion barrels of oil, 23.63 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and 721 million barrels of natural gas liquids.
The two unique conferences are hosted alongside the only Oil & Gas Awards ceremony to be held in Africa.
The Awards are judged by a prestigious panel of senior level figures in Africa's Oil & Gas industry. This includes: Energy Ministers, NOCs (National Oil Corporations) and IOCs (International Oil companies).
It is free for Oil & Gas operators to enter.
Confirmed judges include:
Dr. Ketsela Tadesse Director of the Petroleum Licensing & Admin Directorate, Ministry of Mines of Ethiopia
Sumayya Hassan-Athmani CEO for National Oil Corporation of Kenya
Galib Virani Associate Director for Afren
Rashid Mugabe Deputy Country Manager from Neptune Petroleum
The Awards ceremony will be attended by an international audience of hundreds of oil & gas professionals, as well as Industry journalists reporting the event. Entrants will be given a logo to use for their company literature. Winners will be given a separate logo and will receive extensive post-event coverage. Awards include Company of the Year, Innovation of the Year, E&P, Manufacturer/Supplier of the Year and CSR.
