FDF comment on FoodDrinkEurope's Food Waste Declaration Industry Toolkit
Commenting on the launch of FoodDrinkEurope's Food Waste Declaration and Industry Toolkit, Food and Drink Federation's Director of Sustainability, Andrew Kuyk, said:
“We welcome the launch by FoodDrinkEurope and the other European Food Supply Chain Organisations of “Every Crumb Counts”, a Joint Food Wastage Declaration and the accompanying industry toolkit for food manufacturers on reducing waste.”
“This European initiative builds on successful work in the UK to tackle the problem of food waste across the supply chain and help consumers save money and resources.”
“In common with food and drink manufacturers across Europe, UK companies are continuing to promote more sustainable behaviour from the twin pressures of climate change and an ever increasing population. Through FDF's Five-fold Environmental Ambition and our wider work with other industry partners including WRAP, FDF members have already been leading by example through initiatives like Fresher for Longer and WRAP's Courtauld Commitment to tackle the problem of food waste across the supply chain.”
