Angel House announces their plan for a new Transitional Housing Program project for graduates...

Angel House

.. To celebrate the second anniversary.

GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA, June 3, 2013 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Angel House of Georgia is excited to announce our upcoming second year anniversary barbeque to celebrate the progress our residents are making and plans for new transitional housing for residents who have graduated from the program. Official plans will be announced at the barbeque celebrating our second anniversary. This will be held at the Angel House residence on August 17th, 2013 at 1:00 pm.

After seen our graduates who successfully have completed the twelve month program struggle to find affordable housing, we have identified a need for a program that temporarily assist women with housing while they become economically self-sufficient in order to re-enter society. Currently, our graduates complete the program and are confronted with the sad reality that they are unable to afford housing. The lack of education, poor credit history, combined with the low wages earned makes the probability to relapse much higher than average.

According to the statistics published by the center for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), women entering rehabilitation programs do not have stable living arrangements. For instance, upon admission to a residential/non-hospital program 54% of women live with a partner or parents, 14.6% live alone, 14% with other family or children, 4.3 with friends and 14.8 from an institutional facility (1999).” Women leave the programs and come back to their prior living arrangements, and many confront a lack of stable housing. Angel House as the only female recovery residential program in Hall County want to address this issue by offering housing at a subsidized cost to assist women to continue focus on their personal recovery and become independent.
